You are chosen (Fr. Lubo Kurtovych, OFM)
The message of Our Lady, Queen of peace, on August, 25th 2025 through visionary Marija Lunetti:
“Dear children, My little children, My beloved ones; you are chosen because you have responded, you have put into practice My instructions and love God above all else. Therefore, little children, pray with all your heart that My words may be realized. Fast, sacrifice yourselves, love out of love for God Who created you, and be, little children, My extended hands to this world that has not come to know the God of love. Thank you for having responded to My call” (With Ecclesiastical approval).
In Her messages Our Lady talked to us several times about our election. In Her message on May, 24th 1984 She said to us: “Dear children, I have told you already that I have chosen you in a special way, just the way you are…”
“I have chosen this parish in a special way and I wish to lead it…” (March, 1st 1984) “Little children, you are chosen to witness peace and joy” (October, 25th 2001).
And in this message She tells us how we were chosen by Her. Being chosen comes with responsibility to respond and bear witness to God of love, faith and to Our Lady’s presence.
Throughout history God has chosen certain persons or people in order to proclaim His mercy and to call others to conversion and change of life. He chose the people of Israel who had a profound sense of being elected by God.
Saint Paul says in his letter to Ephesians “God chose believers for salvation before the creation of the world to make them holy and blameless in his sight” (Eph. 1:4). In the basement of our existence there is God’s choice. We wouldn’t exist without God’s choice. We are chosen twice: first when we begin to live and second when we are to become holy that means to become renewed by the divine.
The aim of God’s choice isn’t to elevate us above others but to call us to responsibility. The source of choice is God’s free initiative. God chose us but we did not choose Him. The goal of this election is to grow in holiness and devotion to God.
When Jesus began His preaching in Palestine He didn’t dedicate His sermons to only stories about Himself summoning followers in such a way rather His goal was to gather valuable collaborators to whom He could entrust His mission. But the way with which He was choosing them was, to say the least, unusual and even at some point unclear.
Moreover we can conclude that He was seeking His collaborators at random without any criteria. If He wanted to apply the criteria which people followed then He would visit rabbinical and secular schools searching individuals qualified by degree. He would try to find skilled qualified professionals, enterprising individuals, wealthy and capable managers, orators and demagogues, philosophers and communication experts who would attract attention with their performances. He would seek out individuals whom an ordinary person would be fascinated by and flatter them with words and glances.
But Jesus didn’t care about it as he wanted to create a community of convinced preachers of His Word who would carry out entrusted tasks using accurate and truly unique methods. That means that He has chosen those who didn’t have to rely on human methods of “winning”, that is persuading people but those whose priority was to focus on the essence of God’s message and to convey it accurately.
Therefore Jesus doesn’t seek individuals who believe they have added something to God’s revelation and truth, rather He seeks and chooses those who will be aware that everything they have received comes from God. Those who are conscious that they have received everything understand clearly that they should proclaim not human thoughts, statements or their own convictions and assumptions but only God’s revelation.
Our Lady always chooses the little and ordinary ones who trust in God’s mercy, place everything in His hands and entrust themselves to His guidance.
Let’s sincerely accept the words and calls of Our Lady for us to grow daily on the path of holiness and bear witness to eternal truth and God’s nearness.
Prayer
The Virgin Mary, You gave Yourself completely and have responded to God’s call to be the Mother of God’s Son. Even though You didn’t understand everything You were able to ponder in Your Heart all the words and events that accompanied Your life. Teach us to observe all the events and our lives in the light of God for us to be able to reveal God’s guidance in our personal life step by step. Obtain for us the grace to live Your messages and calls with enthusiasm so that we may be true witnesses of the God of love Who gives Himself to every heart which seeks Him sincerely. Thank You, Mother Mary, for so many graces and heard prayers that have happened and will still happen thanks to Your presence here with us. Amen.
