In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy spirit. Amen.
Come, Holy Spirit, come by means of the powerful intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mary, Your Beloved Spouse! (3x)
Luke17: 26-37
“Just as it was in the days of Noah, so will it also be in the days of the Son of Man. People were eating and drinking, marrying and being given in marriage, up to the day that Noah entered the ark. Then the flood came and destroyed all of them. “The same thing happened in the days of Lot. People were eating and drinking, buying and selling, planting and building. But on the day that Lot left Sodom, fire and brimstone rained down from heaven and destroyed all of them. “It will be like that on the day that the Son of Man is revealed. On that day, the one who is standing on the roof, with his possessions inside, must not come down to collect them, and someone who is in the field must not turn back. Remember Lot’s wife. Whoever tries to preserve his life will lose it, and whoever loses his life will save it. “I tell you, on that night two people will be in one bed. One will be taken and the other will be left. And there will be two women grinding grain together. One will be taken and the other will be left.[ Two men will be out in the field. One will be taken and the other will be left.]” They asked him, “Where, Lord?” He said in reply, “Where the corpse is, there the vultures will gather.”
LIVING AS IF JESUS IS COMING SOON
What do I ask for?
A deep joy in life and in the coming of Jesus.
• I am invited to immerse myself in the Word about the second coming of Jesus. Before I enter into meditation, I ask him to touch me deeply with his promise and awaken in me a desire for his final coming.
• Jesus emphatically repeats that his coming will occur on a day that will be ordinary like any other, when people will be busy with everyday life – as in the days of Noah or Lot (vv. 26–30). The most important question of life is: How am I living here and now?
• I will ask myself about my daily rhythm and lifestyle. Is there a time for me a space for meeting and dwelling with God and people? Is there peace or rush in me? Do I want to live?
• I will realize that Jesus comes to me every day. He always comes “finally”, uniquely and unrepeatably. Today he comes to me in the way I need him right now! Each of his comings is precious to me.
• The second coming of Jesus will be sudden. I should live in such a way that I am ready at any moment to “lose” my life – to give it to Jesus (vv. 31–35). If I try to save it for myself at all costs, then I lose myself and Jesus.
• What can I say about my freedom towards all that I love? Could I surrender it to Jesus at any moment? Are there attachments in my life that cause me to forget Jesus and eternity?
• I will realize that at any moment and in any place I can be taken (v. 37). What state of mind does the thought that “here and now” I should finally stand before Jesus evoke in me? I will pray fervently: “Jesus, teach me to live each moment as if it were my last on this earth!”
In the school of Our Lady:
Mary always lived in the constant presence of the Lord. From the moment of the Annunciation, God’s presence dwelt in her as a living reality: God was in her, grew in her, lived with her. For her, God was here and now. She teaches us to recognize God in the present: in the silence of prayer, in the Eucharist, in the word, in our neighbor, in nature, in every situation that takes place in our lives.

“Dear children! I am carrying to you little Jesus who brings you peace, Him who is the past, present and future of your existence. Little children, do not permit for your faith and hope in a better future to be extinguished, because you are chosen to be witnesses of hope in every situation. That is why I am here with Jesus that He may bless you with His peace. Thank you for having responded to my call.”
Mary, you who awaited with hope the first coming of the Savior, teach me to await His glorious return by living every moment with Him. Amen.
The prayer of consecration to Jesus through Mary
Holy Virgin Mary, today before You and in Your hands I renew and confirm the vows of Holy Baptism.
I renounce satan forever, his works; and I consecrate myself to the Sacred Heart of Jesus Christ. I want to carry my cross after Him all the days of my life according to the will of the Heavenly Father.
O Mary, in the presence of all the heavenly court and the whole Church I consecrate myself to Your Immaculate Heart. Be my Mother and Queen. In complete submission and love I give You and consecrate to You my body and soul, my goods, both interior and exterior, the value of all my good actions, past, present and future leaving to thee the entire and full right of disposing of me, and all that belongs to me according to thy good pleasure, for the greater gloryof God in time and in eternity. Amen.
