Fra Slavko Barbarić heard the news of Our Lady’s apparitions while studying at Frohnleiten, where he was working on his doctoral dissertation. Since 1982, when he was observing and examining the visionaries, he has put all his strength and abilities, all his energy and time, all his attention and love at the service of the events of Medjugorje, at the service of pilgrims. He has led an evening prayer program, preached, founded fasting and prayer seminars, international spiritual retreats for young people, for priests and married couples, led prayers on the hills, edited and hosted radio broadcasts, written books, met people, traveled the world spreading the message of Medjugorje, established a fund to help talented students, worked with addicts, founded the Mother’s Village and the Merciful Father association…
Fr. Slavko suddenly passed away into eternity, leaving behind him a true treasure of spirituality, which the Franciscans have continued to develop and cherish with their hearts up to this day.
