In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy spirit. Amen.
Come, Holy Spirit, come by means of the powerful intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mary, Your Beloved Spouse! (3x)
Mt 8, 5-11
When Jesus entered Capernaum, a centurion approached him and pleaded for his help. “Lord,” he said, “my servant is lying at home paralyzed and enduring agonizing sufferings.” Jesus said to him, “I will come and cure him.” The centurion replied, “Lord, I am not worthy to have you come under my roof. But simply say the word and my servant will be healed.
^For I myself am a man subject to authority, with soldiers who are subject to me. I say to one ‘Go,’ and he goes, and to another, ‘Come here,’ and he comes, and to my servant, ‘Do this,’ and he does it.” When Jesus heard this, he was amazed, and he said to those who were following him, “Amen, I say to you, in no one throughout Israel have I found faith as great as this. Many, I tell you, will come from the east and the west to sit with Abraham and Isaac and Jacob at the banquet in the kingdom of heaven.
To iNVITE JESUS TO ME
What do I ask for?
For a Strong faith in the healing power of Jesus.
• I approach Jesus as he enters Capernaum. I listen to his conversation with the centurion. I admire the faith and simplicity with which the centurion asks Jesus to heal his servant (vv. 5–6). What feelings does the centurion’s conversation with Jesus evoke in me?
• I remind situations in which I have greatly needed Jesus’ help. What can I say about my prayer in moments of human hopelessness? What do I ask Him for most often today? What is the greatest need of my heart at this moment? I will tell Jesus.
• “I will come and heal him” (v. 7). Jesus is willing to come to me every day and heal my sick life. What hurts my life the most? I will confide in Jesus. I will invite Him to those places that cause me pain the most.
• The centurion does not feel worthy to receive Jesus into his home (vv. 8–9). However, he does not rely on his reputation, but on Jesus’ goodness. Can I turn to Jesus in my spiritual misery and helplessness? What can I say about experiencing my dignity towards Jesus? What is my perception of my own worth?
• Jesus notices that the faith of the Gentile centurion exceeds the piety of the believing Jews. He adds that many Gentiles will overtake the believers on the way to the kingdom of heaven (vv. 10–11). I will ask for an attitude of humility so that I can learn from those who shame me with their attitude of faith.
• At the beginning of Advent, I will ask Jesus to open my life to his healing power. In heartfelt prayer, I will invite him into those places in my life, family, and community that most need his cleansing and healing. In the school of our Lady Mary said at the Annunciation – “Let it be done to me according to your word.” She teaches us to surrender to the healing power of Jesus’ word,
like the centurion.

Dear children! I am calling you to that love which is loyal and pleasing to God. Little children, love bears everything bitter and difficult for the sake of Jesus who is love. Therefore, dear children, pray that God come to your aid, not however according to your desire, but according to His love. Surrender yourself to God so that He may heal you, console you and forgive everything inside you which is a hindrance on the way of love. In this way God can move your life, and you will grow in love.
Dear children, glorify God with a hymn of love so that God’s love may be able to grow in you day by day to its fullness. Thank you for having responded to my call.
Mary, Mother of Faith, teach me the simple trust of the centurion. Help me to trust Jesus’ word more than myself, my feelings. Help me to believe that Jesus is always ready to come into my home, to touch my wounds. Mary, bring Jesus to where I need healing most. Lord, just say the word… and heal me, so that we may glorify you with a song of love.
The prayer of consecration to Jesus through Mary
Holy Virgin Mary, today before You and in Your hands I renew and confirm the vows of Holy Baptism.
I renounce satan forever, his works; and I consecrate myself to the Sacred Heart of Jesus Christ. I want to carry my cross after Him all the days of my life according to the will of the Heavenly Father.
O Mary, in the presence of all the heavenly court and the whole Church I consecrate myself to Your Immaculate Heart. Be my Mother and Queen. In complete submission and love I give You and consecrate to You my body and soul, my goods, both interior and exterior, the value of all my good actions, past, present and future leaving to thee the entire and full right of disposing of me, and all that belongs to me according to thy good pleasure, for the greater gloryof God in time and in eternity. Amen.
