Prayer of St. Thomas Aquinas
Almighty and everlasting God, behold, I come to the sacrament of Your only-begotten Son, our Lord Jesus Christ. I
come as one who is sick to the physician of life, as one who is unclean to the fountain of mercy, as one who is blind to
the light of eternal brightness, as one who is poor and needy to the Lord of heaven and earth. Therefore I implore the
abundance of Your boundless mercy, that You would graciously cure my sickness, wash away my defilement,
enlighten my blindness, enrich my poverty, and clothe my nakedness. May I receive the Bread of angels, the King of
kings and Lord of lords, with such reverence and humility, with such contrition and devotion, with such purity and
faith, with such purpose and intention as is profitable to my soul’s salvation. Grant me, I pray, the grace to receive not
only the Sacrament of the Lord’s Body and Blood, but also the reality and power of the Sacrament. O most gentle God,
grant that I may receive the Body of Your only-begotten Son, our Lord Jesus Christ, which He took from the Virgin
Mary, in such a way that I may be made worthy to be incorporated into His mystical Body and to be numbered among
His members. O most loving Father, grant that I may at last behold face to face Your beloved Son, whom now I intend
to receive under the Sacramental veil. Who lives and reigns with You in the unity of the Holy Spirit, God forever and
ever.
Prayer to Blessed Virgin Mary
Mother of love and mercy, Most Holy Virgin Mary! I, a miserable and unworthy sinner, appeal to You with the all my
heart and soul and ask for Your kindness. Just as You stood beside Your sweetest Son when He was hanging on the
Cross, stand beside me, a miserable sinner, as well. Stand beside all the priests who offer the same sacrifice here and
throughout the whole Holy Church. Obtain for us the grace to bring a worthy and acceptable sacrifice before the face
of the Highest and Indivisible Trinity. Amen
Sample Intention for Mass
Now I desire to celebrate the Eucharist and to accomplish the consecration of the Body and Blood of Our Lord
Jesus Christ following the traditions of the Roman Catholic Church, for the praise of Almighty God and the whole
Glorious Church; for my own benefit and for the benefit of the entire Church all over the world; for all those, who
have entrusted themselves to my prayers whether in general or specifically; for the development of the Holy Roman
Church. Amen.
May Almighty and Merciful God grant us joy, peace, the improvement of our lives, the possibility of sincere
repentance, the grace and joy of the Holy Spirit and the perseverance in good deeds. Amen.
