“The world needs Jesus, therefore seek Him through prayer.” Such a simple and such a profound invitation. Jesus is meek and humble of heart. He who seeks him in the silence of his heart becomes like him.
Thus, when we seek Jesus, the world finds him in our transformation according to his heart. The silence in the school of Our Lady begins with confession. We cannot feel the peace Jesus brings to our hearts if there is sin in our hearts that destroys our lives. “Only with pure hearts will you be able to experience the birth of Jesus anew in you, and the light of His birth will illuminate your life“, Our Lady said in a message to the visionary Jakov Colo on December 25, 2023.
“In the great love of God, I come to you today to lead you on the way of humility and meekness. The first station on that way, my children, is confession. Reject your arrogance and kneel down before my Son. Comprehend, my children, that you have nothing and you can do nothing. The only thing that is yours and what you possess is sin. Be cleansed and accept meekness and humility. My Son could have won with strength, but He chose meekness, humility and love. Follow my Son and give me your hands so that, together, we may climb the mountain and win“ (July 2,2007).
The next step is to always seek Jesus in everything that happens, in joy and in hardship. “My motherly heart knows that there are still those who believe and love, who are seeking how to draw all the closer to my Son, who are tirelessly seeking my Son – then, in this way, they are also seeking me. These are the humble and the meek with their pain and suffering which they carry in silence with their hopes and, above all, with their faith“ (January 2, 2019).
On New Year’s Day, January 1, 2024, Our Lady called us to pray from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. to the Apparition Mountain (Podbrdo), the place of the first apparitions. Hundreds of pilgrims gathered to pray together for her intentions as she expressed her wish through the visionary Maria Lunetti at the apparition of December 31, 2023.
All through the prayer it rained, there was mud, water everywhere. When Our Lady appeared, the sky brightened up and a deep peace descended. The peace of Jesus filled the hearts of all of us. Once again, Our Lady carried him in her arms and repeated to us an important lesson in her school of peace. When we pray and offer sacrifices for her intentions, she rejoices because she can bring the peace of Jesus to the world that needs it. To pray for her intentions means to pray for our own intentions as well. Mother knows what the world and each one of us needs most.
After the apparition, the visionary Marija told us the following words: “Our Lady came very happy this evening. She prayed over all of us and for all our intentions. Then Our Lady said: ‘Thank you for having responded to my call and praying for my intentions. You will not regret it, neither you, nor your children, and your children’s children.’ Then She blessed us and left.”
With this, we began a New Year in Medjugorje under Our Lady’s guidance. For us who want to walk the path of holiness with her, it is an invitation to renew our commitment: to offer everything for her intentions. This is our declaration of love for Our Lady. A joyful giving of ourselves to Our Lady, using the words of John Paul II. – Totus Tuus, All Yours, Mary. When we give ourselves to Our Lady for the fulfillment of her intentions, she brings us Jesus and blessing for all the generations.
Let us pray: Jesus, thank you for still allowing Our Lady to come to us with you in her arms. Thank you that you understand us and know that we need a Mother who will lead us, even in this New Year, on the way of peace, home to heaven, to you. We thank you that we can always find you in the silence of our hearts, where you await us with your peace. Foster our desire to seek you perseveringly and faithfully in prayer, to experience the good and the bad with you. Just as you did, Jesus, when you sought your Father and his peace in the silence of your heart in all things. We ask you for all those who do not know about you, about your peace. Make yourself known to them also through our sacrifice and prayer for the intentions of your Mother. Mary, we offer you this year for your intentions. Amen.
