The Novena to the Queen of Peace is taking place as we approach the 42^nd Anniversary of Our Lady’s apparitions in Medjugorje.

On Saturday we celebrate of the Nativity of St. John the Baptist, a date which also marks the 42^nd anniversary of Our Lady’s apparitions in Medjugorje. Holy Masses in the parish church are at 8, 11 and 7 pm. The prayer of the Rosary on Apparition Hill will not take place on that day. After the Holy Mass, one-hour Adoration of Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament of the Altar begins, which will continue in silence until 7 am.

On Saturday, June 24, there is also the Peace Walk. As every year, the Walk starts at 6 o’clock in the morning in front of the monastery of St. Anthony in Humac. Arrival in front of the parish church is scheduled around 10 am.

“Therefore, we invite all you parishioners and pilgrims, especially the younger ones, to join the prayer for peace. It is a nice tradition for our parishioners to offer refreshments to the participants of the Peace Walk when they pass by the houses – from Podmiletina on the main road towards the parish church,” says the invitation from the Medjugorje parish office.

Sunday is the 42^nd anniversary of Our Lady’s apparitions in Medjugorje. Holy Masses in the Croatian language are at 6, 7, 8, 9, 11 a.m. and the central solemn Holy Mass at 7 p.m. After the Holy Mass, one-hour Adoration of Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament of the Altar begins, which will continue in silence until 7 am. There are no Holy Masses at the branch churches on this day.
