RETURN  TO  GOD (father Marinko SHAKOTA, OFM)

The message of Our Lady on June 25th, 2025: 

“Dear children, also today I thank the Almighty that I am with you and that I can lead you towards the God of love and peace. The ideologies which destroy you and your spiritual life are transitory. I am calling you, little children: return to God, because with God you have a future and eternal life. Thank you for having responding to My call”

Our Lady gives thanks to God. It’s a sign of love. One who loves gives thanks. Our Lady loves us, Her children. She is happy that She is able to come and help us, that She “can lead us towards God”. She is happy that God gave Her such an opportunity.

What a wonderful example for us to grow up to this state as well in which we will be glad to help others! Then nothing will be found difficult for us. We will praise God for His bestowing us an opportunity to go to persons in need and visit the sick ones, to provide material assistance to the poor ones, to be a mother, to be a father for the children, to teach at school, to work in a hospital, to be a priest or nun…

We certainly wonder Who God is and what God is like. The Virgin Mary tells us that He is God of  love and peace. This is not something new, Our Lady reminds us about this, because  Saint John says the same in his epistle: “God is love, and whoever abides in love abides in God, and God abides in him” (1 John 4:16). The psalmist sings: “In God alone my soul can find peace and my salvation comes from Him” (Psalm 62:2).

• “The ideologies which destroy you and your spiritual life are transitory”.

The Virgin Mary is the Mother of hope. How powerful the ideologies seem to us such as materialism, atheism and gender ideology which reign currently over the world, destroy many lives and lead so many people astray that we think that these ideologies will conquer the world and are undefeatable. In Her message Our Lady gives us hope and encourages us that the current ideologies are transitory as well as the past ones.

Let’s remember the example.

Napoleon Bonaparte was born in Corsica on March 15th, 1769.

We would say: “He is so lucky to be born on the feast of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary”. But it wasn’t so. Something prevented Napoleon’s happiness. What was it?

On the feast of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary all people’s sights are set upon Mary and Napoleon wanted everyone’s attention to be focused only on him on his birthday. He is powerful! He is a winner of European countries!

But there was something else that was disturbing him. On the feast of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary the sentence from the Gospel according to Luke (from the Magnificat) is read: “He has cast down the mighty from their thrones and has lifted up the lowly”. What did Napoleon do when he became the Emperor of France?

He canceled the feast of the Assumption of Virgin Mary by official decree on February 19th, 1806. Who dares to say that someone will cast down the mighties from their thrones on this day? He is the one who is powerful. He considered himself to be mighty. He wanted everyone to think of him as such. If they read on his birthday that the mighty will be cast down then it may happen to him. It shouldn’t happen like that!

And it happened to him like that only after several years from the moment he had canceled Mary’s feast. Napoleon’s fall took place after his defeat in the battle of Waterloo. The mighty was cast down from his throne. Then the feast of the Assumption of Virgin Mary was restored and the words from the Magnificat were read at Masses again.

• “I am calling you, little children: return to God, because with God you have a future and eternal life”

Besides the mighty Napoleon, even more powerful systems collapsed such as nazism, fascism and communism. But Mary remains. Let us just stay with Mary on this path, just do what She is asking us for and we will feel how even current technologies pass away.

Our Lady tells us about the true path which has a future and leads to eternal life. That is to return to God and live with God. How many people deceive themselves by relying on their own strength and living only for this world! How wise our grandparents and parents were because they lived with God! Everything they did was with God.

How can we return to God?

When you confess it means you return to God. When you go to Holy Mass, you return to God. When you begin to pray, you return to God.

When should one go and when should one begin?

Don’t let yourself be deceived by saying “starting tomorrow…”
