In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy spirit. Amen.
Come, Holy Spirit, come by means of the powerful intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mary, Your Beloved Spouse! (3x)
Luke 21: 5-19
When some people were talking about how the temple was adorned with beautiful stones and votive offerings, Jesus remarked, “As for all these things that you are gazing at now, the time will come when not one stone here will be left upon another; everything will be thrown down.” They then asked him, “Teacher, when will this happen? And what will be the sign that it is about to take place?” He answered, “Take care not to be deceived. For many will come in my name, saying, ‘I am he,’ and ‘The time is near.’ Do not follow them. And when you hear of wars and insurrections, do not be terrified, for those things are bound to take place first, but the end will not follow immediately.” Then he added, “Nation will rise against nation and kingdom against kingdom. There will be tremendous earthquakes, famines, and plagues in various places, as well as dreadful portents and great signs from heaven. “But before all this happens, they will seize you and persecute you. You will be handed over to synagogues and imprisoned, and you will be brought before kings and governors because of my name. This will give you an opportunity to bear witness to me. But do not even consider preparing your defense beforehand, for I myself will give you a depth of wisdom and eloquence that none of your adversaries will be able to resist or contradict. “You will be betrayed even by parents and brothers, relatives and friends, and some of you will be put to death. You will be hated by all because of my name, but not a hair of your head will be lost. By standing firm you will gain life.
To TRUST AND be FAITHFUL UNTIL THE END
What do I ask for?
For the grace of faithfulness and perseverance with God in trials and suffering.
• Jesus warns “those who believe in God” against an attitude of triumphalism, seeking external glory and confirming their own worth in human certainties and successes (v. 5). It is not the outward manifestations of faith that measure its greatness, but the loving attachment to Jesus – especially when successes are lacking (v. 6).
• I will focus on my experience of faith. I will list all the spiritual exercises that I do daily. Can I say that they bring me closer to Jesus and strengthen my bond with him? Is there no routine and habit in them that weakens my attachment to Jesus?
• Jesus reminds me that the path of the Christian vocation leads through the cross of misunderstanding, accusations, rejection – even from those closest to me (vv. 12–17). It will be an opportunity to bear witness to my faith. I will recall situations in which I have been ridiculed or misunderstood because of my faith in Jesus. How did I behave then?
• When Jesus speaks of the trials and sufferings of the journey of faith, he also assures me of his closeness and tender care. He is my first and most reliable defender. He desires that I trust him completely (vv. 15, 18). Perseverance in faithful attachment to Jesus will save my life (v. 19).
• I will earnestly ask Jesus to protect me from doubts and betrayal. I will entrust to his merciful care all the moments of my life in which my fidelity to Jesus will be tested. I will make the act of total surrender of myself, my family and my community to the Sacred Heart of Jesus
In the school of Our Lady:
Mary never sought human security or external success. Her safety was God – even when everything outwardly seemed like failure, ridicule. After the Annunciation, in Nazareth, in exile, in moments when Jesus was misunderstood, she trusted him.

“Dear children! My call for you is prayer. May prayer be a joy for you and a wreath which binds you to God. Little children, trials will come and you will not be strong, and sin will reign but, if you are mine, you will win, because your refuge will be the Heart of my Son Jesus. Therefore, little children, return to prayer until prayer becomes life for you in the day and the night. Thank you for having responded to my call.“
Mary, faithful Virgin, you were faithful to the end and in every temptation, hide me in the Heart of Jesus. May I remain your child in trials. Help me to be the one who trusts, who does not betray, who loves and perseveres in good until the end. Amen.
The prayer of consecration to Jesus through Mary
Holy Virgin Mary, today before You and in Your hands I renew and confirm the vows of Holy Baptism.
I renounce satan forever, his works; and I consecrate myself to the Sacred Heart of Jesus Christ. I want to carry my cross after Him all the days of my life according to the will of the Heavenly Father.
O Mary, in the presence of all the heavenly court and the whole Church I consecrate myself to Your Immaculate Heart. Be my Mother and Queen. In complete submission and love I give You and consecrate to You my body and soul, my goods, both interior and exterior, the value of all my good actions, past, present and future leaving to thee the entire and full right of disposing of me, and all that belongs to me according to thy good pleasure, for the greater gloryof God in time and in eternity. Amen.
