14th day – 18th November

In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy spirit. Amen.

Come, Holy Spirit, come by means of the powerful intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mary, Your Beloved Spouse! (3x)

Luke 19: 1-10

Jesus entered Jericho and was passing through it. A man there, named Zacchaeus, was a chief tax collector and a rich man. He wanted to see who Jesus was, but since he was short in stature, he could not see him because of the crowd. Therefore, he ran ahead and climbed a sycamore tree in order to catch a glimpse of him for he was going to pass that way. When he reached that spot, Jesus looked up and said to him, “Zacchaeus, hurry and come down, for I must stay at your house today.” Zacchaeus came down quickly and welcomed him joyfully. When the people observed this, they began to complain, saying, “He has gone to be the guest of a man who is a sinner.” But Zacchaeus stood there and said to the Lord, “Behold, Lord, I intend to give half of everything I possess to the poor, and if I have defrauded someone of anything, I will repay that amount four times over. Then Jesus said to him, “Today salvation has come to this house, because this man too is a son of Abraham. For the Son of Man has come to seek out and to save what was lost.”

TO ALLOW JESUS TO CHANGE MY LIFE

What am I asking for?

A deep desire to meet Jesus every day.

• I enter the crowd that welcomes Jesus in Jericho (v. 1). There is a crush. They are pushing and shoving each other to see and touch Jesus. I focus my gaze on Zacchaeus, who is climbing a tree to see the Teacher (vv. 2–4).

• I reflect on my encounters with Jesus. I picture myself at Mass, in confession, in personal prayer. Is Jesus a living, beloved Person for me, whom I long to meet?

• I fix my gaze on Jesus, who notices Zacchaeus in the crowd—a public sinner, an unpopular tax collector. I will observe how Jesus looks at him with love and says in front of everyone that he wants to be a guest in his house (v. 5).

• I will look at Zacchaeus, at his haste and the joy with which he receives Jesus (v. 6). I will notice the surprise of the people who cannot accept Jesus’ action (v. 7).

• Jesus looks at me with love every day. He loves me as I am. Like Zacchaeus, I can experience the deep joy of meeting him. I will warmly invite him to come to me, to my daily affairs.

• Zacchaeus is deeply moved by the love of Jesus. Under the influence of this excitement, his stony heart is crushed. The desire to change his life awakens in him. He transforms this desire into concrete actions (v. 8).

• Jesus desires from me to be  like Zacchaeus to allow him to love me as I am. I will fervently ask Jesus for a profound experience of his transforming love. In simple words I will repeat: “Let your love transform my life.”

In the school of Our Lady:

Maj 24, 1984

Dear children! I have told you already that I have chosen you in a special way, just the way you are. I, the Mother, love you all. And in any moment that is difficult for you, do not be afraid! Because I love you even then when you are far from me and my Son. Please, do not let my heart weep with tears of blood because of the souls who are lost in sin. Therefore, dear children, pray, pray, pray! Thank you for having responded to my call. ”

Mary, help me to let Jesus to enter  into my home, into my wounds, my fears, my weaknesses. Help me to trust that his love will not hurt me,

but will transform me – just as it transformed Zacchaeus.
