Perpetual rosary prayer and fasting for peace is an initiative that was born in Medjugorje on October 1, 2014, thanks to the messages of our Heavenly Mother, who repeatedly invites us to prayer and fasting and gives us the answer that by doing so, wars and natural disasters can be stopped.

With the Lord’s help and thanks to the many who have responded, we now enter the tenth anniversary of the sincere appeal to God for peace. As we pray and fast for the fulfilment of Our Lady’s intentions and plans for peace, God acts through Our Lady where it is most needed and in the very best way.

We are pleased to share with you short testimonies of those who have joined us in prayer and fasting for peace for a long time. We thank all who have given of their time with open hearts and continue to do so, joining with Heaven in prayer for peace, we thank all who have offered the sacrifice of fasting and asking God for the precious gift of peace.

On October 1, 2014, the Light of Mary Community launched a 24-hour rosary prayer. With great joy and love in my heart, I joined this prayer for Our Lady’s intentions. For the Mother of God repeatedly invites us to pray for her intentions. I wanted to encourage as many people as possible to join in this prayer. And I have succeeded.

When the time for the one-hour prayer approaches, I start to pray with a special uplifting of my heart, with joy and love, understanding that I am not alone, that the Mother of God is with me, and also that other people are praying at that time and together we praise God the Creator.

Rosary is my favorite prayer; it is life with Jesus and Mary. I always have rosary in my hand, I pray it while travelling, in public transportation, everywhere I go. Rosary has worked many miracles in my life. I love praying the rosary and even practice 1000 “Hail Mary’s” on the feast of Our Lady.

I myself sometimes think about how my life has changed since I started praying rosary at all times. Not only life around me has changed, but I myself have also changed – and peace has come into my soul, trusting that everything will be good if I am good too. For how much goodness and love does God pour out on us through the apparitions of our Heavenly Mother – Our Lady?

Reading Our Lady’s messages of Medjugorje, you begin to understand how much love and goodness Our Lady pours out on us and what a great support it is for our “weak” souls. Our Lady warns us not to fall, not to stumble, to be patient. So, what can I do and say? I am thinking. Believe me, it is very difficult for me. For a long time, I have lived in “friendship” with today’s world. That is why my habits do not give me peace. They attack from all directions, but I smile in the spirit at all my “wrong” thoughts and begin to pray. The best thing to do is to take the rosary and start praying from the heart. What joy and peace comes! You even begin to feel more confident. The most important thing is to pray from the heart, from the soul, and not to “recite verses”. Prayer is a conversation. So let us pray, let us pray, let us pray. Our prayers are answered. Thank you. Praised be Jesus Christ!
