In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy spirit. Amen.
Come, Holy Spirit, come by means of the powerful intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mary, Your Beloved Spouse! (3x)
Lk 19, 45-48
Then he entered the temple and began to drive out those who were engaging in selling, saying to them, “It is written, ‘My house shall be a house of prayer,’ but you have made it a den of thieves.” Every day he was teaching in the temple. But the chief priests, the scribes, and the leaders of the people plotted to kill him. However, they were unable to do so because all the people hung on his every word.
OPEN TO THE GRACE OF PURIFICATION
What do I ask for?
A desire for inner purification and openness to the word of Jesus.
• I will enter the temple with Jesus (v. 45). I will see the crowds of people, I will hear the noise. I will look at Jesus’ face, hot with anger, at the pain in His eyes. He sees those who are absorbed in their own affairs, “losing their heads” and forgetting what is most important.
• I will ask Jesus to allow me to enter into his pain and to “capture with my heart” what causes him the greatest pain. I will ask him what pleases him the most and what hurts him the most when he looks at my life.
• I will observe Jesus’ strong behavior. I will listen to his words full of sorrow and reproach. By word and deed, he purifies the temple, which has ceased to be a house of prayer (vv. 45–46).
• I ask myself what I need most to be purified. I recall the words from the Gospel and the events of daily life that have recently called me to change my attitudes and life. How do I respond to them?
• I notice the attitude of the chief priests and leaders of the people (vv. 47–48). They do not listen to Jesus. They are guided by prejudice and wounded pride. Evil thoughts and sick feelings close them to Jesus. Those who are free from these listen to him with bated breath.
• I listen to my inner self. What experiences dominate it? Which ones help me to listen to Jesus with joy, and which ones close me to him? I will ask him for inner healing!
• I will invite Jesus to me. I will ask Him to cleanse me from the inner chaos and noise. I will confess to Him with confidence: “Jesus, I believe that You can restore peace to my heart.”
In the school of Our Lady:
Mary teaches us to work on our inner self as on a field. This means working thoroughly with love every day, finding enough time, and counting on the help of others.
October 17, 1985
“Dear children! Everything has its own time. Today I call you to start working on your own hearts. Now that all the work in the field is over, you are finding time for cleaning even the most neglected areas, but you leave your heart aside. Work more and clean with love every part of your heart. Thank you for having responded to my call.”
Mary, help me to see what causes Jesus pain when He looks into the temple of my heart. Help me to cleanse the most neglected areas where pride, laziness, selfishness and bad habits have taken root.
Help me to surrender everything to Jesus. Amen.
The prayer of consecration to Jesus through Mary
Holy Virgin Mary, today before You and in Your hands I renew and confirm the vows of Holy Baptism.
I renounce satan forever, his works; and I consecrate myself to the Sacred Heart of Jesus Christ. I want to carry my cross after Him all the days of my life according to the will of the Heavenly Father.
O Mary, in the presence of all the heavenly court and the whole Church I consecrate myself to Your Immaculate Heart. Be my Mother and Queen. In complete submission and love I give You and consecrate to You my body and soul, my goods, both interior and exterior, the value of all my good actions, past, present and future leaving to thee the entire and full right of disposing of me, and all that belongs to me according to thy good pleasure, for the greater gloryof God in time and in eternity. Amen.
