In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy spirit. Amen.
Come, Holy Spirit, come by means of the powerful intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mary, Your Beloved Spouse! (3x)
Lk 16, 9-15
16 And I tell you, make friends for yourselves by means of dishonest wealth so that when it is gone, they may welcome you into the eternal homes.‘Whoever is faithful in a very little is faithful also in much; and whoever is dishonest in a very little is dishonest also in much. If then you have not been faithful with the dishonest wealth, who will entrust to you the true riches? And if you have not been faithful with what belongs to another, who will give you what is your own? No slave can serve two masters; for a slave will either hate the one and love the other, or be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and wealth.’ The Pharisees, who were lovers of money, heard all this, and they ridiculed Him. So He said to them, ‘You are those who justify yourselves in the sight of others; but God knows your hearts; for what is prized by human beings is an abomination in the sight of God’.
TO BRING THE GOSPEL INTO EVERYDAY LIFE
Let us pray for faithfulness and honesty in living out the Gospel
- Jesus Christ was incarnated into our daily life. He lived an ordinary life every day. He desires to give me His wisdom so that I won’t be distracted by everyday concerns rather will be drawn closer to the Gospel. I listen attentively to His teachings.
- Money spent on righteous purposes isn’t supposed to be bad. It is bad when you have a disordered attachment to it. I may use material possessions perfectly well for building the Kingdom of God if I am free from the craving to own them (9)
- I will ask myself about my attitude toward money and things I possess. Can I share them? Am I free from the craving to own? Do my wealth draw me closer to people or distance me from them?
- Jesus teaches me to be faithful and honest in a very little things (10-12). Little compromises, “innocent” lies may grow into something big in more important matters. The first concessions gradually become everyday habits.
- I will ask Jesus to help me sincerely understand my attitude toward honesty and faithfulness.Together with Him I will return in thought to the situations when my honesty and faithfulness were put to the test. What choices did I make then? How is it today?
- Jesus also places on my heart the concern that my decisions be clear and consistent (13-15). Who is the most important in my life? Whom am I willing to serve? Am I clear in the fulfilment of my vocation? Is my heart not divided?
- I will kneel before Jesus in faith and humility and tell Him that He is my only Lord! Today I will confess to Him even more often: “Be the King of my heart!”
In the school of Our Lady
Daily contemplation and living the Gospel is an invitation that the Virgin Mary asks of us every day. In Mary the word became Jesus. Her desire is that we follow her, become the living Gospel.
January 02, 2015 – “Dear children, I am here among you as a mother who desires to help you to come to know the truth. While I lived your life on earth I had knowledge of the truth, and by this alone, a piece of Heaven on earth. That is why I desire the same for you, my children. The Heavenly Father desires pure hearts filled with the knowledge of the truth. He desires for you to love all those whom you meet, because I also love my Son in all of you. This is the beginning of coming to know the truth. Many false truths are being offered to you. You will overcome them with a heart cleansed by fasting, prayer, penance and the Gospel. This is the only truth and it is the truth which my Son left you. You do not need to examine it much. What is asked of you, as I also have done, is to love and to give. My children, if you love, your heart will be a home for my Son and me, and the words of my Son will be the guiding light in your life. My children, I will make use of you, apostles of love, to help all of my children to come to know the truth. My children, I have always prayed for the Church of my Son, and so I also ask the same of you. Pray that your shepherds may come to shine forth with the love of my Son. Thank you.”
Mary, Mother of the Word who became flesh and dwelt among us, help us in the silence of our hearts to hear Him and receive Him daily as you do. Help us to live in the truth of the Gospel, revealing to us half-truths and false truths. Intercede for us so that we may contemplate His presence in us and transform our lives according to His will.
The prayer of consecration to Jesus through Mary
Holy Virgin Mary, today before You and in Your hands I renew and confirm the vows of Holy Baptism.
I renounce satan forever, his works; and I consecrate myself to the Sacred Heart of Jesus Christ. I want to carry my cross after Him all the days of my life according to the will of the Heavenly Father.
O Mary, in the presence of all the heavenly court and the whole Church I consecrate myself to Your Immaculate Heart. Be my Mother and Queen. In complete submission and love I give You and consecrate to You my body and soul, my goods, both interior and exterior, the value of all my good actions, past, present and future leaving to Thee the entire and full right of disposing of me, and all that belongs to me according to Thy good pleasure, for the greater glory of God in time and in eternity. Amen.
