Mary Wants to Lead You to Heaven
Praise be Jesus Christ!
Allow me to share with you my testimony about several graces I have received through the intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mary.
For more than 40 years, people from all corners of the world have been coming to a small country nestled among the mountains — to Medjugorje. They come seeking help, consolation, encouragement, and the intercession of the greatest and most powerful Woman, Queen, and above all Mother — the Mother of God Himself.
My testimony is intended for those who would like to come here but, for various reasons, cannot, as well as for those who are going on pilgrimage but whose journey, various circumstances, fatigue, and other things distract them from what is most important — opening their hearts to Jesus and Mary.
Everything that is truly brilliant is usually simple. Writing letters to the Mother of God is one of those unique phenomena of Medjugorje. Everyone — from a child to an elderly person — can pour onto paper everything that fills their heart. It is one way of speaking with God, expressing devotion to Him, entrusting our loved ones to Him, and surrendering our heart, soul, body, life, and death to Him.
And Heaven never remains silent. It responds with countless graces and abundant blessings. Let me share a few of the most striking examples from the past three years. All the names mentioned have been changed.
Mrs. Marta was diagnosed with cancer. After completing the entire course of treatment, the doctors told her that she had at most one month left to live — perhaps only a few days or weeks. It was at that time that we were preparing to travel to Medjugorje. When I learned about her situation, I suggested that she write a letter to the Blessed Virgin Mary. She did so. Several months later, when she was already expecting to die, she herself asked the doctors when “her hour” would come. However, a follow-up examination showed that the cancer had disappeared and that she was completely healthy.
A similar situation happened with Mrs. Catherine. She was in a very serious condition, and the tumor in her abdomen was approximately the size of an A4 sheet of paper. Her relative Olga asked Mary only for Catherine’s healing. She hesitated for a long time about whether to write a letter, but eventually managed to do so on the very last day before our pilgrimage group departed.
After returning from the pilgrimage, Mrs. Olga impatiently waited for me outside my office, tears of joy in her eyes. Just a few days earlier, Mrs. Catherine had undergone a follow-up examination, which showed that the cancer had completely disappeared. Imagine — only a few days after the letter had been written.
One married couple had been unable to have children for many years. Let us call them Taras and Iryna. The husband was opposed to the Church. Whenever religion was mentioned, he immediately became irritated. When we suggested that his wife ask the Mother of God for a child in a letter, he became very angry and reacted harshly. Nevertheless, Iryna secretly handed in the letter.
A year later, they were joyfully expecting the birth of their first child. A profound change took place in Taras’s heart. They began attending Holy Mass together, felt the need for the Sacrament of Reconciliation, and acknowledged the power of Medjugorje and the grace of our Heavenly Mother. Today, when I gently suggest that they write a letter, I hear a willing “yes” with joy and trust — now directly from Taras himself. Our Heavenly Mother not only obtained the gift of a child for them, but also transformed their hearts, kindled in them a desire to know Jesus, and led them out of the darkness in which they had previously lived.
Many people are afraid that someone will read their letters. This is not the case. Apart from the Blessed Virgin Mary, no one opens them. You can be at peace. It also does not matter what language you write in. What matters is that it be a sincere conversation. Do not be afraid to ask, to plead, to give thanks, or to express your negative emotions about various situations or people. Entrust to Her your seemingly impossible human problems as well. Do not be afraid of “bothering” Her. She is amazing. She always has time especially for you. She will listen attentively to the whole story of your life and help you with everything — from the smallest decisions, such as whether or not to stick to a diet, to the most important ones: whether to undergo surgery or whether to marry a particular man.
You matter to Her because Her Son gave His life for you. It matters to Her that the suffering and death of Her Son for you should not be in vain.
Remember: Mary wants to lead you to Heaven. She does not merely want to show it to you, describe it, or offer it to you. She wants to take you by the hand and lead you to the beautiful home that Her Son has already prepared for you.
Do not reject this offer. Say your “yes” to Mary, just as She said Her “yes” to the Archangel Gabriel. Only your free will can allow Her to do this. For no one is dragged forcibly into Heaven.
